Nintendo has been slowly but surely expanding into the mobile space with some of their biggest IPs. Their first was Pokémon with the wildly popular Pokémon GO, which is still going strong in the mobile market. Now it looks like that will continue with a newly announced game, Pokémon Rumble Rush.
The game was announced by The Pokémon Company, and while no date was given, it was said to be coming soon (though reportedly the game is live in some regions already). You can see an overview of the title via Google Play. The game will have you exploring different islands, finding new Pokémon, and mining special ore for upgrades, and even has some challenges for your team in Super Boss Rushes, featuring some of the strongest Pokémon. The game will be free to play and does include in-game purchases, though none are detailed at this time. It is developed by Ambrella as the latest in a series of “Rumble” titles that’s spanned several systems.
Pokémon Rumble Rush will come to iOS and Android soon. It’s worth noting, though, that this game does not have involvement with DeNA, so it’s not the mobile title they said would be releasing by the end of the current fiscal year.
