Pokémon GO to Feature Limited Time Detective Pikachu Content

From today until May 17th, get Detective Pikachu-related swag as well as the great detective himself.

I’ll admit it, I never thought I’d see a live action Pokémon film. I figured the powers to be would never pull the trigger on such a crazy idea. That’s why the debut trailer for Detective Pikachu was such a shocking thing. In part because of its mere existence, in part because it looks… kind of good? Now it looks like the successful mobile title, Pokémon GO, is getting in on the hype for the first live action film based on the series, with some limited time Detective Pikachu items.

As you can see from the video below, starting today and running to May 17th, you can get several Detective Pikachu-themed things in the game. Shirts with the logo, Pikachu hat ears, and Raid Battles inspired by the film are included. You can even get the detective himself, as he’ll photo bomb your Snapchats, giving you a chance to catch him. During the event, you also get double XP and have an increased chance to catch Pokémon featured in the upcoming film.

Pokémon GO is available now on all compatible mobile devices, and Detective Pikachu will hit theaters on May 10th.
