Pokemon Unite Releases July 21st on Nintendo Switch

The title is a free-to-start MOBA with optional purchases. Players who log in before August 31st will receive Zeraora for free.

The Pokemon Company’s multiplayer online battle arena title Pokemon Unite has a release date, at least for the Nintendo Switch. It’s out on July 21st and players who log in can obtain Zeraora for free till August 31st. Check out the release date announcement trailer to see the game in action.

Zeraora is a Mythical Electric-type Pokemon and was introduced in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. Its specialty is closing the distance and dealing lots of burst damage up-close. Plasma Gale is its Unite Move which unleashes an electric blast that travels a short distance before exploding into a plasma zone.

Pokemon Unite is a free-to-start title with optional in-game purchases and sees two teams of five Pokemon battling it out. Like any other MOBA, defeating opponents will level up your Pokemon and even unlock evolution. The key to victory is earning more points than the other team before the timer is up. Though it’s coming to Switch next week, iOS and Android players will have to wait till September to play. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
