Project CARS Heading to Xbox One, PS4, SteamOS in 2014

New platforms allow studio to "not compromise on quality of our vision".

Slightly Mad Studios has announced that Project Cars will be releasing in 2014 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and SteamOS, with the next-gen console versions promising “new benchmarks of graphical fidelity and technical power”. Interestingly, the SteamOS version will include “specific multiplayer and social features” exclusive to the OS. We’ll see how that pans out in the coming months as more of SteamOS’s features come to light.

Studio head Ian Bell stated that, “Whether that’s graphically in the craftsmanship of our cars and tracks, technically in the way we’ve approached weather and time of day, or emotionally in how each car feels and responds to your touch. These powerful new platforms allow us therefore to not compromise on the quality of our vision and ultimately that means players are going to experience something truly breathtaking when they get behind the wheel.”

Project Cars is also slated to release for Wii U and PC in Fall 2014.
