PS4 Gets New Unofficial PS1 Theme Made By Truant Pixel To Celebrate 500 Million Consoles Sold

Unfortunately, the theme is not for release.

Sony have launched limited edition PS4 Pro to celebrate having sold over 500 million units of in the PlayStation family worldwide to date. Now it looks like the folks over at Truant Pixel have decided to celebrate in their own way as they have just revealed a video of an unofficial PS1 theme for the PS4 that is sure to make you feel nostalgic.

Truant Pixel has created various dynamic theme concepts for the PS4 in the past. Unfortunately, this particular theme is not for release, since they would have to get permission from Sony to do that. It is, however, fully functional and it looks quite great overall. Truant Pixel have stated that they would “jump at the chance” and release the theme officially if Sony was on board.

However, that doesn’t seem very likely as of now. Still, at least you can appreciate the effort by seeing what the theme looks like. Hopefully, Sony will collaborate with Truant Pixel and release it officially. Oh well, we can dream! You can check out the video showcasing the theme below.
