At this point, just about everything is known about the PS4 Slim, and a surprising amount of things are known about the PS4 Neo, too- all we are waiting on is official confirmation of what we know, and launch details, such as the exact date and pricing. Some leaks from Foxconn factories, where the systems are being manufactured, have suggested that the PS4 Neo, at least, may be fair bit expensive– however, it doesn’t seem like analysts necessarily agree with that.
Posting on Twitter, Takashi Mochizuki, well known analyst and reporter for The Wall Street Journal, noted that Atul Goyal of Jefferies has projected a price of $299 for the PS4 Slim, and $399 for the PS4 Neo. The price for the Slim makes sense – we do assume Sony will drop PS4 prices with the introduction of that model – but the PS4 Neo seems to be a bit cheap here.
Thankfully, we don’t have long to learn whether or not this might be true- the PlayStation Meeting is scheduled for September 7, so we should have final details and confirmations on just what to expect from these two systems soon enough.
