Though there’s some skepticism about the PS4 Pro and its inability to deliver native 4K gaming, there are plenty of developers raving about the visual details that the console’s increased power is able to deliver.
One such developer is Ubisoft Montreal with Watch Dogs 2. During the livecast after the PlayStation Meeting, animation director Colin Graham gave his thoughts on the PS4 Pro and was happy to have more power to work with. The entire process of development usually entails pushing high resolution assets into a package that takes memory restrictions and frame rate into account.
With PS4 Pro, Watch Dogs 2 comes closer to the developer’s vision of the game, offering a level of detail that “pops off the screen. It’s so cool to see your work look so shiny and spectacular.”
Watch Dogs 2 promises to deliver quite the detail as well with San Francisco offering various pedestrians, graffiti and other interesting highlights throughout the city. This will become even more apparent at a higher resolution according to Graham. Both the PS4 Pro and Watch Dogs 2 are out in November so stay tuned for more details.
