Despite claims that there are no shortages for the console, Sony Computer Entertainment America head Jack Tretton talked about holding back inventory for the PlayStation 4 in order to ensure enough stock for launch day.
Speaking to FOX Business, he stated that, “We want to make sure people can buy a PS4 on November 15 [November 29 in the UK] and through the holidays, so we’re holding back some inventory to make sure people will be able to buy one. We can pre-sell every unit we can manufacture, and the good news is that production yields have been phenomenal. We’re going to work very hard to make sure that every consumer that wants one gets one.”
Does the previous argument about pre-orders not being guaranteed till hold, and is there a similar strategy on-going for other territories especially in Europe? We’ll only come to know for sure when the PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th in North America and November 29th in Europe.
