PS4’s Processing Power and Memory Helps Sculpt Different Encounters In Killzone Shadow Fall

'We really wanted to give a lot more variety this time around.'

The Killzone franchise has always set a benchmark for other PlayStation games. The last entry in the series, Killzone 3 was extremely vibrant and colorful in its art direction and now its successor, Killzone Shadow Fall will not only have breathtaking vistas but also promises to deliver different encounters and user experiences, according to the game’s designer, Eric Boltjes.

“Me, as a game designer, you know what am I most interested in is how many different things I can get into an encounter. We really wanted to give a lot more variety this time around, so more than just weaponry I can now draw more enemies, more different enemy types on screen, I can put more destructibility, more elements into a specific encounter, play around out a bit more because of the processing power and because of the memory and all. And that just allows me to help sculpt a lot more different types of encounters, to give players different experiences,” he said in an interview with GameTrailers.

Earlier, it was confirmed that the game can handle 24 enemies at once and the campaign mode will last a decent hours. Killzone Shadow Fall  will launch along side the PlayStation 4 on November 15th in North American and November 29th in the United Kingdom.
