PS5 Lifetime Shipments Reach 80.3 Million Units

The console shipped 2.5 million units during this period. Software sales for the PS5 and PS4 also collectively hit 65.9 million.

Sony’s financial results for the fiscal quarter ending on June 30th are now available, and the PS5 has officially reached a new milestone at 80.3 million worldwide shipments. During the three months, 2.5 million consoles were shipped, up year-on-year from 100,000.

Software sales for the PS5 and PS4 reached 65.9 million, an increase of 12.3 million year on year. Eighty three percent were digital downloads of full titles, and first-party titles comprised about 6.9 million units, both slightly up over the same period last year.

PlayStation Network also rose in monthly active users, rising from 116 million to 123 million year-on-year. Overall, it was a successful quarter for Sony, but the future still carries some uncertainty due to tariffs. The impact on operational income was estimated to reach 100 billion Yen, which the company could offset with price increases for the PS5.

SIE president and CEO Hiroki Totoki considered console production in the US, but there has been no update. Stay tuned in the meantime.
