PS5 Pro Reportedly Includes an Extra 2 GB of DDR5 RAM

The official safety guide for the console is out in the wild ahead of launch and also seemingly confirms 16.7 TFLOPS GPU performance.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pro is out in a few days, but several users have begun receiving their consoles early in regions like Brazil. A new Reddit post seemingly reveals the official safety guide and includes specifications like 16.7 TFLOPS of GPU performance and a 390-watt power supply. However, the most intriguing part is the inclusion of 2 GB of additional DDR5 RAM.

The console is confirmed to offer 16 GB GDDR6 RAM, which means the extra RAM’s potential use for the operating system and other processes. It’s a significant step up from the base PS5, which offers an additional 512 MB DDR4 RAM as an SSD controller cache.

The PlayStation 5 Pro launches on November 7th for $699.99, so expect detailed previews and teardowns in the coming days. Thus far, several titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 have received updates to take advantage of its features.
