Sony's Hiroki Totoki also says he's confident in the PS5's success.

The PS4 has managed to ship a staggering 102.8 million units worldwide in its lifetime, as Sony revealed today. Despite lowering its forecast of shipped consoles for the fiscal year, the company is prepping for the PlayStation 5’s release next year. In fact, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki said he’s confident in the PS5’s success as per The Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki on Twitter.

On top of this, Totoki noted that Sony’s studios and third party developers were working on PS5 titles that “will satisfy game fans.” Thus far, we know that Bluepoint Games is working on “big” PS5 title. There are also third party titles like Watch Dogs: Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine and Gods and Monsters that will be enhanced for the next generation.

We’re essentially waiting for Sony to reveal the console in all of its glory. Rumors indicate that a PlayStation Meeting event will take place in February 2020 so we might not have to wait long. The PlayStation 5 releases in Holiday 2020. No details have been provided for pricing just yet.
