PS5’s Official Teardown Video Offers a Detailed Look at the Console and its Insides

Sony talks about the internal components of the console in this new video.

Recent weeks have seen Sony kick the pre-release marketing for the PS5 into gear, and as the console’s November launch comes closer, Sony are starting to show more and more of it. In a recently uploaded video, they show the console’s hardware up close and in detail.

The video starts off showing the PS5’s dimensions (yes, it still looks massive), shows us the console’s connectivity ports, how the console stand operates and how it can be used to place the PS5 both vertically and horizontally, and also officially confirms that the PS5’s white side panels are detachable, as has been unofficially known for some time now.

Following that, the video gives a detailed look of the console’s innards. It focuses quite a bit on the console’s cooling system and fan, and talks about Sony have tried to make it both efficient and silent. If recent impressions are anything to go by, they’ve probably succeeded in doing that. The video also shows us the Blu-Ray drive, the Zen 2 processor, the GPU, the GDDR6 RAM, the SSD, and a lot more. Check out the whole thing below.

The PS5 launches in some regions of the world on November 12 and everywhere else on November 19. Sony have said that they will be unveiling the console’s UX and UI soon as well, so let’s hope that’s not far away either.
