Red Dead Redemption 2 Sees Return of Honor System, No HUD Option

Depending on how Arthur Morgan treats NPCs, his standing can change.

Thanks to recent previews, more information has begun to emerge about Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2. Telegraph revealed that the Honor System, seen in the first game and which determined how the world’s NPCs reacted to the protagonist, will be coming back.

That being said, there are plenty of little choices the player can make. If Arthur were, for example, to enter a fisherman’s camp and take everything, he could either run away, shoot the fisherman if caught or threaten him to not say a word about it. Arthur’s standing with shopkeepers also affects how much they charge for items. Interestingly, depending on how the Dutch Gang is fed and rationed, they may also look at Arthur in a different light.

And though Red Dead Redemption 2 won’t do away with its mini-map, it will allow players to customize the HUD. If you want to turn off all the icons, including the map, have at it. As for multiplayer, it’s currently in the works and will be revealed later.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is planned to release on October 26th for Xbox One and PS4.
