Red Dead Redemption 2’s NPC Dialog Changes if You Turn Off Minimap – Rumor

Plus, the game’s cooking system is explained further as well.

Update: The headline and the original story were updated to correctly represent the detail in question.

Original Story:

Rockstar puts an amazing amount of depth and detail into building their worlds for their games. It’s why, as far as open world games go, they are often considered to be in a league of their own. Now, we possibly have another example of just how much thought they put into the minutest of details.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will let you turn off the mini-map, as we have known for some time now. In many other open world games, this is facile option, since the world isn’t designed to be navigated without the aid and assists that minimaps and the HUD provide. In Red Dead Redemption 2, however, NPC chatter reportedly changes if you have the map turned off, so they give you more detailed instructions and directions and you know where to go, as the video below demonstrates. Which is a lot like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s NPCs giving you directions to help you navigate its markerless world, too. However, we are not sure whether this is really the case, so take this information with a grain of salt (UPDATE: It isn’t).

In something else in the game that is like Breath of the Wild, protagonist Arthur Morgan can cook and receive multiple buffs, reports French website Jeux Actu. Obviously, what buffs he receives comes down to what he cooks, and how he cooks it.

It all sounds great, and I can’t wait to go hands on with the game when it launches for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26.
