According to recent reports on Verge, Microsoft is preparing a new Xbox 360 bundle that will cost on $99 and release as early as next week.
The bundle will include a 4 GB Xbox 360 Slim console and a Kinect. Owners will have to sign up for a $15 monthyl Xbox Live Gold subscription for two years, giving them access to “possibly some additional streaming content” from cable providers. The deal also covers a two year warranty.
“Microsoft will position the package as a competitor to Apple TV, Roku, and PlayStation 3,” the report said.
“For those buying the bundle now and getting the cheapest two-year Xbox Live Gold option, that’s about $299.00 + $120 = $420 vs. $459 over a duration of two years.”
With 7 years on the market now, it’s kind of expected that Microsoft will be releasing their console at such competitive prices. This might be good news for the ageing system.
