Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is Out on August 27th

The Minotaur's Island calls to a younger Sophia in this prequel but it may have more than she bargained for in terms of danger.

It seemed a given that Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio would reveal something for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the prequel to the first two mainline titles, and it has indeed delivered. It launches on August 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and is also playable on day one for Game Pass.

Contrary to the previous titles, which focused on Amicia and Hugo de Rune, this time you’ll control Sophia, a smuggler who assisted them in Requiem. However, she’s 22 years old here and a lot more headstrong, so when she discovers a mysterious island, she wants in.

The problem? It’s the Minotaur’s Island, and fighting is only one part of the job. Players will have to deal with treacherous traps, puzzles, and…well, that one entity who’s at the center of the island. Sophia’s agility and expertise lend to a more action-heavy approach as she can strike, parry and more.

It’s certainly a different pace than we’re used to from the previous game – more fantastical but dark in its own way, especially with the sheer number of trials to undergo.
