Crystal Dynamics’ PS4 version of Rise of the Tomb Raider is now available. The action adventure title originally released last year for Xbox One before heading to Windows 10 PCs in January 2016.
Scot Amos, studio co-head at Crystal Dynamics, stated that, “Our development team has crafted the ultimate package in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration. The game and all of the new additions delivers something for every gamer with an epic single-player story, survival co-op action, and a fully immersive virtual reality story chapter.”
It’s not a simple port though – Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration sports new content and new features for players to sink their teeth into. The new, VR-supported story chapter is “Blood Ties” which sees Lara exploring Croft manor to claim her heritage; “Lara’s Nightmare” is a Horde mode with zombies; Endurance mode now supports co-op; and an Extreme Survivor difficulty has also been added.
If that weren’t enough, there will be five different skins for use, including one based on Lara’s appearance in Tomb Raider 3. This isn’t including all the DLC, outfits and weapons already available in the Season Pass.
Xbox One and PC players who own the Season Pass will receive the new content for free, though VR support will remain exclusive to PlayStation VR.
