Rocksteady Explains The Dual Play System in Batman: Arkham Knight

This is how you command all those who follow you.

Rocksteady have started a new series of video features in advance of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight, where they will look at specific aspects of the game in detail, before also answering player queries. The first episode, which you can see above, discusses the game’s Dual Play system, and tries to explain how it will work.

“You can seamlessly switch between the two characters, whether it’s Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman,” lead scriptwriter Martin Lancaster said, explaining how Dual Play allows you to call in assistance from Batman’s allies in both combat and predator mode. “It’s fantastic because we’re able to build these relationships, not just through the cinematic sequences, but right through the gameplay through every aspect of the game.”

It sounds like yet another feature that should add a wrinkle to the games’ now iconic gameplay systems. Whether or not it detracts from the core Batman experience remains to be seen, but as of right now, the game seems, more and more, like a love letter to the Batman universe.

Let’s just hope the actual gameplay itself is not compromised in the process.
