RPG Maker MV is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch next year (it has been available on PC ad Mac for a while now), finally bringing the powerful RPG creation engine and suite to consoles. And now, a new trailer for the game (is it a game? Doesn’t seem right to call it one) shows off how game creation using it will work.
RPG Maker MV removes the need for coding and abstraction by letting you directly place objects, characters, and maps on screen, and assigning them properties, including dialog, movement, controls, and more, from there. It has a repertoire of assets for you to use, and lets you make 16-bit style turn based RPGs in the first person and third person point of view. I have been curious about how something like this would translate over to consoles- the new trailer actually shows off some of that.
You can check out the trailer for yourself below. RPG Maker MV launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch next year.
