Rare’s Sea of Thieves is fast approaching so Rare is divulging as much information as it can to prepare us for the experience. In a new video, Senior Designer Andrew Preston and Senior Software Engineer Tom Berry talk about Skeleton Forts. Check it out below.
As the name implies, Skeleton Forts are full of skeletons. There are skeletons within, outside and attacking in hordes. One Skeleton Fort is active in the world at a time and is signaled by the appearance of a Skull Cloud, prompting players to converge on the location. If you manage to clear out a Skeleton Fort, which could require a mix of raiding and cannon support, then there’s plenty of loot up for grabs.
The concept sounds cool but you have to wonder if the gameplay for Sea of Thieves will hold up in the long term. The game releases on March 20th for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC so it won’t be long before we find out.
