Activision, Infinity Ward, Xbox and Major League Gaming are gearing up for the second annual Call of Duty Championship, as 32 teams will face off for the title of “World Champions”. It will take place from March 28th to 30th in Los Angeles for a grand total of $1 million.
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, stated that, “Last year’s championship came down to the final minute of the final match with everyone holding their breath to see who would win. The skill, passion and energy brought by these teams and the crowd looking-on showed just what makes our community the best in the world. Call of Duty is more than a video game. It’s a pastime shared by millions. It’s exciting to play and fun to watch, and we can’t wait to see what this year’s event has in store.”
The second annual Call of Duty Championship will also mark the first time that an official competitive COD event is being played on Xbox One. Those interested in checking it out can stream it via MLG.tv and Xbox Live.
