Remember Valkyria Chronicles? It was that amazing turn based strategy game from Sega that hit the PlayStation 3 exclusively a few years ago, and it was arguably the best internally developed Sega game we have had in quite a while. Thanks to some poor mishandling of the franchise by Sega (staggered and missing localizations, as well as poor choices of platforms for the sequels- which both hit the PSP, instead of the PS3, where the first game had found its success), the series faded from view, but the first game remains a veritable cult classic to this day.
And now, more players than ever will be able to enjoy this masterpiece- Sega has confirmed that the game will be coming over to PC, in response to a fan petition that has been trying to get them to port their recent hit games- Virtua Fighter 5, Bayonetta, this, and Vanquish- to the platform (although they refrained from giving us any more details, only promising that they will be coming soon).
This is certainly excellent news, not only because this will mean more sales for a game that really deserves it, but also because it spells more mainstream Japanese support of Steam as a platform. And that, more than anything else, can only mean good news.
