Silent Hill 2 Remake Hotfix Addresses Labyrinth Progression Blocker, Adds Steam Cloud Support

Players who found themselves trapped in the location after patch 1.04 can now continue through the story thanks to the hotfix.

Konami has announced that a new Silent Hill 2 remake hotfix is available on PC and PS5. Following patch 1.04, which addressed several crashes and added AMD FSR 3.1.1 support, a new progression blocker emerged that trapped players in the Labyrinth. It would occur with save data in the location post-patch 1.04.

Fortunately, the hotfix addresses this, adding “a safeguard that forces proper activation of the necessary triggers, ensuring smooth progression moving forward.” You can now keep the madness of aimlessly wandering the Labyrinth strictly in-game.

Another noteworthy feature is the addition of Steam Cloud support for Steam players, which will sync one’s data with the most recent cloud saves. However, if you have local data that’s older, the most recent cloud save will overwrite it without warning. Konami advises backing up the former to avoid such situations.

Stay tuned for further patches, and check out our review for the remake here. Alongside critical acclaim, it sold over one million copies within days of its launch. Though Bloober Team is open to developing other remakes or even new entry in the franchise, it recently announced a self-published horror title – Cronos: The New Dawn. Head here for more details.
