Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 has a lot to live up to, not only became of the immense legacy of the original Konami classic, but also because 2023 has already seen a couple of masterful survival horror remakes with Dead Space and Resident Evil 4. Of course, the question of when exactly Silent Hill 2 Remake will launch is one that has yet to be answered, but it seems like that might not be too far away.
That’s as per Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno, who recently told PAP Business (via Bankier) that the survival horror remake “technically ready” and is “close” to wrapping up development, but that its launch date is something that will be decided by Konami.
“Silent Hill 2 is technically ready. It does not mean that the game is finished, but we are close,” Babieno said. “However, the issue of the release schedule lies with our partners, what the promotion will look like and when the title will debut is not directly in our hands.”
This follows from similar statements from Babieno in October, when he said that the game was nearing completion. Recent reports have suggested that Konami has big plans for E3 2023, so it’s possible that the game’s release date might be announced in June.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is in development for PS5 and PC.
