Konami and NeoBards Entertainment offered new trailer for Silent Hill f, the next entry in the psychological horror series, which showcased more of the gameplay and terrifying monstrosities awaiting protagonist Hinako. As good as this will look on a base PS5 (and Xbox Series X), it also supports the PS5 Pro.
What enhancements does it offer? According to Series producer Motoi Okamoto on the PlayStation Blog, there’s an Enhanced graphics mode, which “retains graphical fidelity at a stable FPS.” While this doesn’t indicate the resolution and frame rate, he noted that players could enjoy a “smoother, more aesthetic combat experience.”
If it’s anything like Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, Silent Hill f could feature Performance and Quality Modes on the base consoles, the former running at 60 FPS and the latter providing a higher resolution at 30 FPS. Time will tell, but hopefully, the PSSR implementation on the Pro goes better.
Silent Hill f launches on September 25th and pre-orders are now open. Okamoto, together with composer Akira Yamaoka and writer Ryukishi07, will host panel at AnimeExpo on July 4th to further “unmask” the title. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
