Sony Announces Corporate Strategy Meeting for May 22nd

The meeting will feature Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida and president, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki, and last for 1.5 hours.

The Sony Group will hold its next Corporate Strategy Meeting on May 22nd at 9:30 PM EDT/10:30 AM JST. Lasting for 1.5 hours, it will feature chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida and president, COO and CFO Hiroki Totoki as its speakers and stream live via Sony’s website. The announcement tweet teases “Beyond the boundaries” and not much else.

This doesn’t appear to be the rumored PlayStation Showcase that’s also happening in May, where Silent Hill 2 remake and the next Astro Bot will allegedly appear. Sony could use this for announcements regarding its upcoming product line, which could also mean the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro (allegedly launching in Fall/Winter this year).

It would fit with Totoki’s previous announcement about outlining “the long-term vision” for Sony Group and “the essential role” that Sony Interactive Entertainment will play in that. Perhaps we’ll even see some reveals for upcoming films based on PlayStation franchises like Ghost of Tsushima and Until Dawn. Time will tell, so stay tuned for further updates in the coming week.
