According to Shuhei Yoshida, the president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, Sony has “no clear plans” to bring Gran Turismo 6, the upcoming latest in the Gran Turismo series, to PlayStation Vita.
In a statement to IGN, Yoshida said, “”The PS Vita is a very powerful portable system, but not quite as powerful as PS3. As you can tell looking at GT6, it really is using PS3 to a very high level. So it’s going to be really hard to move GT6 onto PS Vita. I don’t expect the whole game to be able to run on PS Vita. So there’s no clear plans right now that we can talk about.”
The PSP Gran Turismo was thoroughly underwhelming, with a five year build up after it’s announce date in 2004 not living up to the hype by the time of it’s 2009 release.
On whether or not Gran Tourismo 6 will make its way to PS4, series creator, Kazunori Yamauchi was quoted, “”We actually do have a PS4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now.”
