Sony has revealed that they sold the most consoles in the UK market. This total apparently includes all the consoles they manufacture so it seems these are PS3, PSP and Vita stats.
They accounted for 36 per cent of the market, followed by Nintendo at 36 per cent, and Microsoft at 29 per cent. These stats are compiled using Chart-Track figures.
They told MCV that they hope to maintain the momentum despite the announcement of a new platform, and their business in 2013 is centered around the PS3.
“PS3 is going to be the backbone of all our business this year,” UK boss Fergal Gara revealed. “Yes we have brand new news, but there’s no reason why the two can’t sit together.”
“We have the software that will drive the hardware this year – more than any other platform,” UK marketing director Murray Pannell added.
