Sony’s Paris Games Week Conference Will Be Gamescom Level Big

No announcements yet on what we might see beyond vague hints.

While Sony didn’t have an official Gamescom they won’t be disappointing their fans for a second time this fall as they have been planning some big things for their upcoming Paris Games Week show. According to company sources, the skipping of Gamescom means they will be able to hold a press conference that is similar in scale and size to what you might expect if you’re dealing with a Gamescom press conference.

Speaking on the latest episode of PS I Love You XOXO, Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida suggested that we can expect comparable announcements to those made at the German convention in the past. By all accounts, Sony has hit it out of the park everytime they have actually held big press conference. They even did rather well at the Tokyo Game Show, despite the fact it got less attention than conferences at E3 or Gamescom would get.

Yoshida talked a bit more about the planned press conference, even if he didn’t bring a ton of detail. “You can look back on what we did for Gamescom in the past. We actually announced many games from both first-parties and third-parties.” He said. Yoshida pointed out that Sony tends to use its European press conferences in order to unveil more of their “out there” ideas. This means we’ll likely see Quantic Dream’s new game. When it comes to the more traditional unveils, there are rumors out there we might get a real good look at Gran Turismo 7. Stay tuned to the Paris Games Week to see what Sony has in store.
