In a special episode of Pach Attack centered on the launch of the PlayStation 4 in North America, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter stated that the Sony’s target of selling 5 million consoles by March 2014 is “very realistic”.
“I think 5 million sell-through number is very realistic. And especially given that the Xbox One costs 100 bucks more, I think that you got to give Sony a nod for being faster out of the gate.”
If you hadn’t pre-ordered your console and are worried about a lack of supplies, then don’t worry. Pachter predicts that constraints on supply should lessen by January to February of 2014.
The PlayStation 4 is slated to release on November 15th in North America and on November 29th in Europe. You can download it now on to a USB stick and install it on the console from there.
