When Spyro Reignited Trilogy was delayed by about two months, many speculated that it was being done (partly, at the very least) so that it could come with all three games on the disc, which was something Activision had confirmed earlier would not be happening.
Recently, it was confirmed that that wouldn’t be the case, that you would still need to download Spyro 2 and 3 at least partially to play them even if you did purchase the game physically. Now, users who have managed to get their hands on early copies of the game are reporting across the internet that even though Spyro Reignited Trilogy’s disc itself has an instal size of 36 GB, it still required mandatory download of a 42 GB update afterward (via Gear Nuke).
Of course, it also isn’t possible for you to be able to pause or cancel the update, because if you do that, the game doesn’t let you play Spyro 2 and Spyro 3 fully. Which kind of defeats the purpose of buying a game physically in the first place.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy launches officially on November 13 – tomorrow – for the PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the game’s recent launch trailer through here.
