Square Enix Won’t Bring NieR: Automata to Xbox One and Nintendo NX For Now, Possibility Still Exists

Just like we saw a PC announcement, we might see it come to Xbox One and Nintendo NX, but maybe later down the line.

PlatinumGames and Square Enix’s upcoming action RPG game, NieR:Automata, is officially coming to PS4 and PC some time next year. However, fans of the game were wondering whether they will get to see it on Xbox One or Nintendo’s future console, Nintendo NX. NieR:Automata was originally announced as a PS4-exclusive, but with growing demand and the studio’s desire, they announced a PC version, so there is always a chance.

At Gamescom 2016 in Cologne, DualShockers were able to sit down briefly with Producer Yosuke Saito and ask him about the possibility of seeing Xbox One and NX versions of the game. He replied by denying any ports for now, but he didn’t rule out the chance of seeing them eventually getting announced in the future.

Saito-san continued to reassure fans by revealing that developer PlatinumGames will be the one responsible for both the PC and PS4 releases, which means the quality will hopefully be the same.
