Star Citizen’s Squadron 42 Will Allow Players To Create A Female Protagonist

A lot more information about the single-player campaign has been revealed by director Chris Roberts.

In a recent livestream hosted by Cloud Imperium Games, Star Citizen’s director Chirs Roberts revealed a lot of information about the single-player campaign Squadron 42. First and foremost, he confirmed that players will be able to play the game as a female protagonist. Although the developers are working with the male skeleton as of now, they will later start working on the female skeleton’s animations as well.

He also revealed that when players complete certain tasks in the single-player campaign, they’ll be able to unlock certain perks that carries over into the persistent universe of Star Citizen. In the story, the events in Squadron 42 are about the past of the player’s character and this will affect future interactions with certain characters as well. The game will feature multiple difficulty settings so as to provide options to players but the game won’t be too easy. While players can make use of save points within missions, these save points are scarce as well, so players can expect to face a challenge within this game.

It’s certainly exciting that the events of the single-player campaign will carry over into the persistent universe as this will ensure that the two feel closely connected. For more information, you can check out the full video below.
