DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront saw its first reveal trailer this past Friday at Star Wars Celebration and despite what you may think about the “in-engine” footage, there’s no denying that it was impressive. Of course, when it comes to gameplay, the lack of a campaign mode and focus on online play may turn some players off.
However, the game will have a mode that allows you to play multiplayer levels with different missions layered in. Star Wars: Battlefront design director Niklas Fegraeus stated on Twitter, in response to the presence of an Instant Action mode with bots that, “We have a feature called Missions that allow you to play solo or cooperatively with bots on or offline.”
It’s still a shame that there won’t be any story campaign and seeing these multiplayer missions with story elements (like in Titanfall or Evolve) just won’t feel the same. Regardless, those seeking offline play with bots will be happy.
Star Wars: Battlefront is out on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
