Star Wars: Battlefront Has 40-Player Cap

Also, release date revealed.

The next official reveal for Star Wars Battlefront is only a matter of hours away, this has gamers and Star Wars enthusiasts alike all searching for leaked material, small details and even overlooked information. But what most are interested in, is the game’s release date.

We can now happily confirm that the game is indeed coming this November 17th, much to the joy of long time Battlefront fans. Previously, speaking about a release window, EA Studios EVP Patrick Soderlund has said, “I wouldn’t say that we have a particular tie to the movie. Now, obviously we would prefer to be close to the movie, but I wouldn’t say that we’re directly tied to it”

This would make sense given that we know Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will be releasing in December of this year. At the Star Wars Celebration in California, members of the AP have broken embargo on Battlefront, releasing a report that reads, “Battlefront” will focus on frenzied shoot-outs between up to 40 players portraying Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire forces. In a demonstration of the game’s multiplayer mode, a team of jetpack-equipped rebels were shown carving their way through the woodsy Endor while Stormtroopers charged at them on foot, on speeders and within walkers, including a hulking AT-AT war machine.”

This little bit of information may contain spoilers, so read on at your own risk. The game’s executive producer Patrick Bach has commented on Battlefront, saying, “In the game, you actually get to play the Battle of Jakku. It’s the same place from the new movie but 30 years earlier.”
