Star Wars: Battlefront Will Also Not Have Voice Chat on Consoles

Now they've gone and done it.

Yesterday, we reported to you that Star Wars: Battlefront will not have in game voice chat for the PC version. It wasn’t such a big deal, as we said then- third party chat clients like TeamSpeak and Skype are used far more prevalently for online games on PC anyway, and while it was a bummer that voice chat with randoms wouldn’t be allowed, it’s not unprecedented.

But now, it appears as though voice chat will also not be offered in the console versions of the game for some reason– and unlike on PC, there is no built in third party voice chat solution for consoles for easy chatting with your friends and teammates either.

You can still use your system’s party chat feature to chat with your friends, if you are playing with them- but the inability to talk to random players, especially since they might be the ones you will be teamed up with while playing, is going to sting, and it is going to sting hard.

I just don’t understand why they could not have offered voice chat as an option. It was not acceptable when Nintendo did it with Splatoon, and it is not acceptable now.
