Star Wars Battlefront’s Mixed Reception Helped, Says DICE

"We can't always get everything in the current game, but in the future we want to hit those things and give the fans what they're after."

When Star Wars Battlefront was announced, everyone was excited- DICE would be bringing back the classic Star Wars shooter franchise, and they would be modernizing it? What was not to like? But then, the final game released and was a significant disappointment- it was far worse off than Star Wars Battlefront 2 had been in just about every way.

In true DICE fashion, the studio has been working on turning that around since. And in an interview with Eurogamer, DICE’s producer Paul Keslin acknowledged the game’s poor reception.

“The reception was mixed,” he said. “We’ve been listening to a lot of the feedback since launch and even post-launch as we’ve been adding new things. We’ve announced the next game that’s coming out – those are things we’re look to tackle in the future. We can’t always get everything in the current game, but in the future we want to hit those things and give the fans what they’re after.”

While true, this is unlikely to endear the game to fans who bought their first game hoping to get more of what they had enjoyed the originals. But, with that said, I do want to, yet again, give DICE kudos and credit for always being so responsive to what their fans and community want- they truly are unlike other developers on the market with that.
