Starbreeze Gets New Chief Development Officer in the Guise of Industry Veteran Stéphane Decroix

"I hope that my experience creating IPs, building and organizing teams will contribute to this process."

Starbreeze, the folks whom you probably know best for the Payday games, have gone ahead and hired Stéphane Decroix as their new Chief Development Officer (CDO). Decroix is an industry veteran who has been executive producer on several high profile games, such as Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, and, most recently, the Watch Dogs games.

He will be in a similarly weighty role at Strbreeze, looking over OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead, Crossfire, Geminose, and, of course, the Payday franchise (of which the third one has begun development). Hopefully, his experience can help streamline the development process on all of these, as well as future, projects at the studio.

“I’m very excited to join Starbreeze at this phase of the company’s development. Starbreeze has made such an amazing journey with the success of PAYDAY and expanding to work with a game catalog that is really impressive. The journey has just started, and I hope that my experience creating IPs, building and organizing teams will contribute to this process,” Decroix said.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is due out this September for PS4, Xbox One, and PC; meanwhile, Payday 3 has officially begin production, too.
