Developer and publisher Offworld Industries has announced that its co-op shooter based on the Starship Troopers franchise, Starship Troopers: Extermination, will be out on PC as an early access title on May 17. As caught by Gematsu, the game is slated to be priced at $24.99.
Starship Troopers: Extermination last got trailer during IGN Fan Fest back in February. The trailer showed off quite a bit of gameplay while also giving us a look at the three classes players will be able to play in the game.
The game focuses on the boots-on-the-ground setting of Starship Troopers. Players are pit against hordes of bugs, and missions revolve around gathering resources and establishing footholds. Going by previous trailers, Starship Troopers: Extermination seems to focus quite a bit on defensive play, allowing players the option of setting up defensive structures and turrets.
Starship Troopers: Extermination will allow co-op for up to 16 players together, and will likely feature a bug population that they have to fight to match.
