True to multiple recent leaks, Sony has, at long last, officially announced a State of Play presentation for this week. The PlayStation-focused event will arrive tomorrow, Thursday, at 3 PM Pacific, and feature updates on 14 PS5 and PS VR2 games across a runtime of over 30 minutes. As per Sony, that will also include information on upcoming first-party titles that are coming later this year.
If recent leaks are to be believed, it’s quite likely that Sony will be announcing new Astro Bot game, which is allegedly due out for PS5 (not PS VR2) sometime later this year. Additionally, the company is allegedly also preparing an update for upcoming sci-fi PvP shooter Concord, which it recently reiterated was also targeting release at some point in 2024.
As for what third-party titles could be included, that remains to be seen. Past leaks had claimed that Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 9 would be shown off, but they’re both now looking unlikely for the State of Play, thanks to a Silent Hill Transmission being set for the same day, and recent reports claiming that the next Resident Evil won’t be announced this summer.
