Steam Might Get a “Year in Review” Feature in Time for Winter Sale

Valve is currently said to be working on a feature that will provide players with a retrospective on their year. Currently calling on the API can show time spent and number of sessions.

Valve seems to be working on a feature that will allow Steam users to see their “year in review”. According to the developer of SteamDB Pavel Djundik, there are already APIs in Steam’s database that work, showing quite a few stats.

The stats shown include total play time, VR play time, play time on the Steam Deck, play time using controllers, play time divided by operating systems, total sessions, VR sessions, Steam Deck sessions, controller sessions, and sessions divided by operating systems.

According to Djundik, the company seems to be working on the new feature to release it in time for this year’s winter sale on Steam. It is quite likely that this feature will get expanded upon, showing more metrics by the time the winter sale rolls around.

Valve is also currently stated to be working on few games. The last major video game release by the company was Half-Life: Alyx, while the last major hardware release was the Steam Deck, which has been in the process of smoothening out its supply chain issues.
