Once again, Steam has revealed the best-selling games on its platform for the year thus far. The titles aren’t in any particular order but instead organized into four categories – Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Obviously these represent the “success tier” of each category relative to the others.
The top 12 best-selling games include the usual suspects – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Rocket League, Dota 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: GO, Civilization 6 and Grand Theft Auto 5. Far Cry 5 is also included, but so is Kingdom Come: Deliverance, which sold one million copies shortly after its launch in February.
To make things even more intriguing is the fact that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 and Jurassic World Evolution are also included. Warframe is also a top-seller, likely due to its constant stream of updates, cosmetics and weapons. The full list is worth checking out, especially when measuring the success of a game versus how long it’s been available. For example, Path of Exile’s Incursion League is in the Gold category, but has only been out since June 1st.
