Steam’s Shopping Cart Now Allows In-Line Gifting, Privacy Options

Steam users can now purchase gifts for multiple friends at the same time thanks to updates to the shopping cart.

Valve has announced that the newest version of the Steam Client beta now has updates to how the platform’s shopping cart works. Among other things, the update now allows players to mark games they might purchase as private right from the shopping cart.

With the update, the shopping cart on Steam will now be synced across all devices. This means that your shopping cart while browsing the Steam store through a browser will be the same as when you’re using the smartphone app, or the Steam Client on the desktop.

The new shopping cart also allows players to mark game purchases as gifts without leaving the cart. This new feature now also allows Steam users to buy gifts for multiple friends at the same time. This, along with simpler gift messaging speeds up the purchasing process.

The beta client update comes just as Steam is set to kick off its annual Winter Sale for 2023, which will see large swathes of titles being available at deeply-discounted prices. Valve had released trailer for the sale earlier this month.
