It’s hard to argue against the fact that Street Fighter 5 had something of a rocky start. Content starved at launch, the title did not perform up to standard for the legendary franchise. Time has improved that, and between the several reworkings, new content, and much DLC, it’s no doubt the game has been a success of some kind for Capcom. Now, the final update to the fighter is among us with the Champion Edition, and we get a new trailer to celebrate its launch.
You can see the launch trailer below. Champion Edition will add additional characters, such as SF4‘s Seth, as well as most of the DLC that’s been released thus far for the base game (“Fighting Chance” costumes, brand collaboration costumes, and Capcom Pro Tour downloadable content are excluded) for a total of 40 characters, 34 stages, and over 200 costumes. The game will also see rebalancing to the various fighters.
Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC as both a standalone release and an upgrade for previous versions of the game. Netcode adjustments are also coming at an unspecified time period.
