Street Fighter 5 Servers Face Issues at Launch

Luckily, there seem to be improvements in the later hours.

Street Fighter 5 launched recently and Capcom enabled servers for the game on both PC and PS4. Naturally, the load they faced due to heavy traffic caused performance to suffer, leading to a number of players being unable to connect. The lack of stable server performance resulted in matches being dropped and players even being kicked from their survival rounds.

This isn’t including connection errors which results in players timing out after being unable to establish connections after extended periods of time. Fortunately, after taking servers offline for an hour or so, things seem to have improved. You can check out the current server status here on the Steam forums.

Street Fighter 5 has faced server issues before, especially during its initial beta stages. The current server issues weren’t nearly as long-lasting and Capcom seems to be on top of things. It’s a good thing too – there isn’t much players can do in Street Fighter 5 right now aside from multiplayer.
