Summer Game Fest 2026 is “Our Biggest” Yet, Says Geoff Keighley

Whether teasing the sheer number of announcements, the scale, or both, June 5th could be a strong kickoff to the Summer of Gaming.

While all eyes are on PlayStation and its partners for the upcoming State of Play, Summer Game Fest arguably marks the true start to the so-called Summer of Gaming. It takes place on June 5th at 2 PM PST, and according to host/creator Geoff Keighley, it’s the biggest yet.

Of course, you could interpret this in several ways, from being the longest Summer Game Fest showcase to the one with the most World Premieres and announcements. Keighley may even be referring to the attendance and overall scale.

Assuming it’s about the sheer amount of reveals, we wouldn’t be too surprised – if we could figure out what they all are. Odds are high that Capcom announces the release date for Onimusha: Way of the Sword (allegedly launching in September) and reveals Monster Hunter Wilds’ expansion. It may even go further by finally announcing the long-rumored Resident Evil – Code: Veronica remake.

If Hideo Kojima, a regular at the shows and a good friend of Keighley, appears, then perhaps there will be an update about horror title OD. And of course, there’s always the possibility that Rockstar drops that brand new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 before potentially kicking off marketing later this month. Stay tuned for all the details and updates this Friday.
