The RPG leads the charge this month for the console game pass.

Microsoft’s Game Pass service is quickly becoming the crown jewel of their gaming empire. The service has seen a steady stable of games come and go, and the latest batch is being lead by the much anticipated RPG from Obsidian Entertainment, but there’s also a good variety of other things coming as well.

This newest rotation of games this go around has quite the variety of titles. The biggest, by far, is The Outer Worlds which will release day and date with the retail release on October 31st. Another day and date release is Afterparty on October 29th, where you play two friends stuck in hell and having to drink the Devil under the table to escape.

Other titles being included is Subnautica, Lonely Moutains: Downhill, Secret Neighbor and Lego Star Wars 3. The games will be added to the service throughout the end of October and beginning of November, so keep your eyes peeled.

We finally got a release date for Night School Studio’s next title, Afterparty. The game will hit just in time for Halloween, which is fitting since it’s a game set in Hell all about drinking with the devil himself. The game also got a wild launch trailer that shows there’s a big party in Hell, and the only way to escape is to party the hardest.

The trailer highlights the plight of Milo and Lola, who have died right before their college graduation and gone to hell. They must escape eternal torment by out drinking the devil, as one does. It will include a full narrative story where your choices impact the world around you, and the drinks you consume open up new dialogue. Partying in Hell isn’t just a lifestyle; it’s the only way out.

Afterparty will launch on October 29th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. You can check out the launch trailer below.

Drink the devil back to hell.

Indie developer Night School Studio burst onto the scene with the fantastic Oxenfree. It was a narrative based game that saw several branching storylines come together. For their next game, however, they are going in…a different direction. Afterparty was announced a while ago, and we’ve been patiently waiting for a release date. Well, the devil is finally getting his due (and getting drunk) late next month.

Afterparty follows the adventures of Milo and Lola in hell. They are there for all eternity unless they can outdrink the Devil. It’s going to be quite the task in and of itself, but they will have to party with the worst of the worst demons as well as flirt with Satan maybe(?) to get to their goal. Their actions won’t just affect them, but all of hell around them in their quest to escape eternal torment.

Afterparty launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on October 29th. The PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store.

The stream's debut episode is set for March 26th at 9 AM PDT.

Taking a page out of Nintendo’s playbook with the Nindies Showcase, Microsoft has announced ID@Xbox Game Pass. Premiering on March 26th, the stream will shine a spotlight on all the indie titles that are coming to Xbox Game Pass in the future. It will start at 9 AM PDT.

The recent announcement promises new reveals, developer discussions, and gameplay. In the debut episode, players can expect to see more of titles like Afterparty, Void Bastards, and Supermarket Shriek. The team will also visit Afterparty developer Night School Studio to go behind the scenes with the game’s development.

Microsoft has been doing a fairly good job of including indie titles in the Game Pass catalogue. Recent months have seen titles like Below, Ashen, Vampyr, and so on being available on the service, increasing its value even further. When you also consider that Microsoft has a consolidated subscription service for all these releases, it could have somewhat of an advantage over Nintendo’s Nindies. Time will tell though, so stay tuned.

Microsoft has announced its line-up of ID@Box games that it will be presenting at the upcoming GDC 2019. Among the 30 titles confirmed are a few surprises though. Radical Fish Games’ CrossCode, previously confirmed to release for Nintendo Switch this year, is coming to Xbox One. It will also support Xbox One X Enhanced features.

Night School Studio (of Oxenfree fame) will also be releasing its next title Afterparty for Xbox One as well as PC. More interesting is the fact that Afterparty will also be available for Xbox Game Pass. Other titles included in the GDC 2019 line-up include Cat Quest 2, Door Kickers: Action Squad, Hunt: Showdown (coming to Xbox Game Preview in Spring), The Forgotten City, and Stela from SkyBox Labs (who are also co-developing Halo Infinite with 343 Industries).

The full line-up can be gleaned below, courtesy of Xbox Wire. Microsoft is also expected to announce some new information for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and DayZ at today’s Inside Xbox. Will the former be coming to PC as rumours suggest? Time will tell, so stay tuned for more details.
