Developed by andsor games, the retro-styled title features 20 tracks, six game modes, five different cars and support for four-player split-screen.

Stylish arcade racer Slipstream, which takes cues from Out Run and Horizon Chase Turbo, is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5. After being crowd-funded in 2016, it was released on PC in 2018. Now, for just $10, console players can get in on the city pop experience. Check out the release trailer below to see it in action.

Gorgeous looks aren’t the only thing that Slipstream has going for it. The gameplay places a large focus on drifting and can be fairly punishing. Fortunately, there’s a rewind function for going back up to five seconds. Along with five unique cars, there are also 20 tracks and six game modes like Grand Tour, Grand Prix, Cannonball and more.

Three difficulty levels are included along with options for turning off certain effects and reducing the game speed up to 50 percent. If that weren’t enough, there’s split-screen support for up to four players and various filters like Pixelated, CRT and NTSC for that authentic ’90s vibe.

The roguelite platformer hits Steam two weeks after its PS4 version.

After promising that it would arrive a few weeks after the PS4 version, Mossmouth has confirmed a release date for Spelunky 2 on PC. It will release on September 29th via Steam. This gap in release is due to the developer needing additional time to polish online multiplayer for the PC version.

As a sequel to the first game’s story, Spelunky 2 sports a new cast of characters and head to the Moon for new dangers. Along with new areas and monsters, players can also expect new traps, items, alternative routes and mounts which offer special skills. You’ll also run into new NPCs that can either help you or turn into a brand new threat.

Along with changing up shops and ghosts, Spelunky 2 will also offer a “second layer” in stages. This later exists behind the regular stage and can often hold hidden passages, rooms with treasure and other secrets. If that weren’t enough, there will be more wide-ranging mysteries that may require the entire community’s efforts to solve.

Stay tuned for more details on Spelunky 2 in the coming weeks. It releases on September 15th for PS4 first.

The gorgeous 2D Souls-like game makes its way to Microsoft’s console in a few weeks.

The fantastic 2D Souls-like indie game Salt and Sanctuary will be making the jump to Xbox One, the developers confirmed today. The best part? The game will be coming to Xbox One in just a few short weeks, with an announced release date of February 6 meaning you won’t have to wait too long for the game to hit Microsoft’s platform.

The title will cost $18 on Xbox One, and will be ported by BlitWorks. For those of you who like challenging platformers, Souls games, or Metroidvania style titles, this is definitely worth a buy (and at the price, is practically a steal as well). It’s good to see the game coming to more platforms yet as well, and expand its audience—the title originally launched as a PS4 exclusive, then went on to hit, in order, PC, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, and now of course, Xbox One.

If you’re unsure on what kind of game it is, make sure to check out the Xbox One announcement trailer for the game below.

WeirdBeard Games’ Tricky Towers, a block stacking puzzle game with elements of magic, will release for Nintendo Switch on October 11th. It’s being ported to the hybrid platform with the help of Spanish studio Blitworks. Check out the announcement trailer below.

The Switch version of the game will feature all free and paid DLC released till now. Speaking about the announcement, WeirdBeard co-founder Niels Monshouwer said, “A Nintendo Switch version of Tricky Towers has been our most requested feature since the console was announced. We have had a ton of requests across social media, email, and even a few in person!”

Currently available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, Tricky Towers sees players stacking blocks together and creating a tower. Since you’re competing with other tower builders, you have to use magic to defend your tower or disrupt enemy towers. Along with a single-player mode that includes 50 wizard trials, there are extensive tournaments, and numerous modes like Survival, Race, and Puzzle in online multiplayer. Up to 4 players can compete locally in these modes as well.

Tricky Towers will be available in the Nintendo eShop for $17.52 – pre-purchasing it grants a 20 percent discount.

Derek Yu's follow up to the insanely popular rogue-like will be out in 2019.

Mossmouth and Blitworks have released the first gameplay trailer for Spelunky 2, and it looks fantastic. Following Ana Spelunky, the daughter of the first game’s protagonist, the sequel features online multiplayer, improved visuals, and mounts. That’s right – hijack an enemy’s mount and ride it through the level. Check out the trailer below.

The trailer also introduces a bunch of other playable characters that can also partake in the journey. Each seems to have their own unique talents, though it’s possible to control all of them when playing with friends. Interestingly, though Spelunky 2 was originally thought to arrive later this year, the trailer confirmed that it will instead be launching in 2019.

Which isn’t all that bad when you consider how crowded the Fall/Holiday season is going to be. Spelunky 2 is in development for PC and PlayStation 4 and will be heading to those platforms first. For more information, check out creator Derek Yu’s interview with PlayStation Blog.

Prepare to die, in this gorgeous 2D take on the Dark Souls formula.

Do you remember Salt and Sanctuary? The excellent 2D Souls-like game launched originally on PS4, with a PS Vita and PC release following afterwards. It was a great game, and a wonderful translation of the Souls concept to the 2D sidescroller format. Now, it will be coming to Nintendo’s Switch.

Ska Studios announced today that they will be bringing the game to Nintendo’s hybrid on August 2 (as in, literally next week), with BlitWorks having been brought in to help them out with the port. It will be available for $18, and will launch with support for a whole host of languages- English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Plus, if you like your games physical, even on Switch for some reason, there’s more good news- Salt and Sanctuary: Drowned Tome Edition will be available at retail this Holiday season.

Given the success of games like Hollow Knight on Switch, as well as the continued, inexplicable delays the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered is suffering, this is sure to find an enthusiastic and receptive audience on the Switch. You can check out a trailer for it below.

Derek Yu's amazing rogue-lite platformer is finally getting a sequel.

In a rather shocking development, Derek Yu’s Spelunky 2 was announced with Mossmouth and Blitworks developing. The reveal trailer for the sequel didn’t really show any gameplay but it did feature the teaser of “Looking to the skies, the walls are shifting once again”. It also seems like the protagonist of the first game has settled down and started a family with his daughter taking on the next big adventure.

On Twitter, creator Derek Yu confirmed that Spelunky 2 would arrive for PS4 and Steam first. The first game released on a number of platforms including PlayStation Vita and Xbox 360 so it’s highly likely that Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions come later.

Spelunky first released in 2008 and earned heaps of critical praise for its randomly generated levels, rogue-lite elements and awesome mix of platforming, exploration and combat. There’s no release date for Spelunky 2 just yet but at this point, it might be safe to assume that it’s 2018.

Patch for crash also incoming.

Roll7 have announced that their popular side-scroller PS Vita exclusive OlliOlli will soon be making its way to the PS4 and PS3, as they join hands with BlitWorks and Sony to bring the game to the home consoles by Summer of this year, until which time the game will remain a Vita exclusive.

“We met with Shahid and Spencer who run the strategic content team at SCEE, and they recommended that we get the game onto PS4 and PS3,” said Simon Bennet of Roll7, “So that’s what we are doing!”

“We have partnered with BlitWorks, who are based in Barcelona, Spain,” Bennet said. “We already have a first playable version up and running on PS4 and a big screen. Really feels amazing on DualShock, too.”

Bennet also promised Vita gamers that Roll7 will soon release a patch that fixes the crash bug that many have reported while playing the game. “OlliOlli will remain a PS Vita exclusive until summer 2014, and Roll7 is very close to fixing the crash bug that some players are experiencing,” he said. “When that patch is released, we’ll bundle in a nice little update that should put a smile on people’s faces.”
