Announced way back in 2017, Mossmouth’s Spelunky 2 finally has a release date. It’s coming to PS4 first on September 15th. The sequel follows a new generation of explorers and, as the initial trailer teased way back in the day, lets you explore the Moon. Check out the new trailer below.

Spelunky 2 will feature several new playable characters – like Ana, the daughter of the original game’s protagonist – new shops, new fluid mechanics for even more danger and so on. Online multiplayer is included while branching paths should spice up those cave runs all the more. You can also procure mounts like because why not?

Spelunky 2 is also coming to PC though a release date wasn’t explicitly provided. Otherwise, the gameplay trailer provides a nuanced look at all the different things that will kill you, from bungling around in the new shops to other characters. Stay tuned for more details in the coming month.
